JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a committed Degree Apprentice Building Services Engineer with a technical ability and an interest in sustainability to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background, with at least 3 A Levels A-C including Maths. The position offers a fully funded BEng (Hons) degree course, 5 years part time at UWE, and the associated paid time off work to attend. The End Point Assessment of the Apprenticeship will lead to Incorporated Engineer registration with the Engineering Council and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers.
GCSE Candidates with 5 GCSEs 4+ including Maths and English will be considered on a extended route to the BEng (Hons).
Main Roles and Responsibilities are:
Complying with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) Rules & Regulations.
Representing company in professional manner.
Production of design information under the direction and with the assistance of senior engineers, including:
o Drawings in AutoCAD/Revit format to suit clients requirements
o Calculations, heat loss/gain, pipe/duct/cable/lighting etc.
o Written tender specifications
o Equipment selection and schedules
o Budget costs and pre tender estimates
o Feasibility/condition/survey reports
o Building Regulations L2 compliance
Software modelling and design calculations (MEPWorks/Revit/AutoCAD/Relux/Amtech).
Completing weekly time sheets.
Keeping office calendar up to date on company appointments/attendances.
Complying with Company Policies, plus H&S requirements as HGA Policy Schedule.
Continued professional development.
Responding to queries/requests etc. in a timely manner
Assisting Senior Engineers as directed with design and contract management.
Managing smaller projects, with the assistance of senior engineers.
Assisting CAD Department when requested.
Assisting Office Manager when requested.
Attendance to College or University at all required times for all lecture, labs, tutorials or study times.
Completion of duties as agreed in the UWE Student Commitment Statement.

Pay: £14,232.00-£18,850.00 per year
