OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli chef to join our small, exciting team here at Neighbourhood. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving next-level sandwiches , salads and a variety of other deli products, with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal local produce.
You will play a key part in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality food in a welcoming and truly independent environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, strong hospitality skills, and the ability to work effectively in a kitchen setting. You should also be comfortable with thinking creatively to develop and produce new and exciting sandwich offerings, whilst adhering to pre-agreed profit margins.
Hours will Tues - Saturday 8-4 with benefits including, Free shift meals and store staff discount.

SKILLS

  • Strong hospitality skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in food production or preparation is highly desirable.
  • Leadership qualities to supervise team members when necessary.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a kitchen environment, demonstrating culinary skills as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and colleagues alike.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and helping others in the team.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve menu items, including sandwiches, salads and deli boards, ensuring high standards of food safety and presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and produce new and exciting sandwich offerings, whilst adhering to pre-agreed profit margins.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including slicers and scales.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure availability of fresh products.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
  • Support training of new staff members by demonstrating best practices in food preparation and customer service.
