DESCRIPTION: Cosentino's Price Chopper #249 is seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Clerk to join our team. This role involves providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving deli products. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. This position requires someone who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining cleanliness and adhering to food safety standards. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Greet customers with a friendly demeanor and provide excellent customer service. * Prepare and serve deli items, including slicing meats and cheeses, and preparing sandwiches. * Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, demonstrating proficient cash handling skills. * Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to strict sanitation guidelines. * Assist with food preparation, including cooking and portioning food items. * Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure product quality and safety. * Stock and merchandise deli products, ensuring proper presentation and rotation. * Communicate effectively with team members and management. * Demonstrate teamwork and a willingness to assist in other areas as needed. * Utilize point of sale (POS) systems efficiently. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. * General knowledge of basic cooking techniques. * Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Experience with customer service. * Ability to stand for extended periods. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Previous experience in a deli or food service environment. * Experience with food preparation and merchandising. * High school diploma or equivalent.
