DESCRIPTION: The Deli Cook is a vital member of our team, responsible for preparing delicious and high-quality food items while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role requires a strong understanding of cooking techniques, food safety and sanitation, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, possess excellent time management skills, and thrive in a fast-paced restaurant operation. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Prepare a variety of deli items, including sandwiches, salads, and sides, following established recipes and standards. * Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to strict sanitation guidelines and food safety protocols. * Being able to cook all types of foods such as meats, seafood, and vegetables. * Able to use various methods of cooking: frying, grilling, roasting, and sauteing. * Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including grills, ovens, and slicers, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness. * Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and special requests with a positive attitude. * Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and portioning ingredients. * Collaborate effectively with other team members, demonstrating teamwork and a positive work ethic. * Monitor food inventory and report any shortages or discrepancies to the deli manager. * Adhere to all operation procedures, including opening and closing duties. * Practice effective time management to ensure timely food preparation and service. * Maintain a focus on food safety and sanitation throughout all stages of food handling. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Working knowledge of cooking techniques and food preparation methods. * Possession of a valid Food Handler's Card. * General knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. * Excellent communication skills. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. * Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Prior experience in a deli or similar food service environment. * Experience with grilling techniques. * Familiarity with kitchen management principles. * Experience with multitasking.
