Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Deli Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the daily operations of our deli department, providing excellent service to customers and ensuring a clean and organized workspace. We are a long time family run business.
Duties:
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli products such as meats, cheeses, sandwiches, and salads
- Operate deli equipment including slicers, ovens, and fryers
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the deli area
- Assist customers with product selection and provide recommendations
- Handle cash transactions using a Point of Sale (POS) system
- Upsell products and promotions to enhance customer experience
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure quality and freshness of products
Qualifications:
- Experience in the food industry or kitchen environment is preferred
- Proficiency in basic math for measuring and weighing ingredients
- Strong customer service skills with cashiering experience
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures
- Ability to upsell products effectively
- Understanding of food safety practices to maintain hygiene standards
- Willingness to sanitize work areas regularly
