JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing and serving deli products. You will play a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction by maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness, as well as contributing to the overall success of the deli department.

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in a deli or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong cash handling skills with experience using POS systems.
• Basic math skills for accurate pricing and transactions.
• Excellent phone etiquette for effective communication with customers.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
• Experience in retail sales is a plus, with a focus on upselling and meeting sales targets.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as needed in the deli department.

Experience:

• Deli Dairy: 3 years (Preferred)

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with their orders.
• Prepare and serve deli products, including meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches, while adhering to food safety guidelines.
• Operate the POS system for cash handling and transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, including stocking supplies and rotating inventory.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals through effective upselling techniques.
• Assist in supervising junior staff members, ensuring they follow proper procedures and maintain quality standards.
• Handle phone inquiries with professionalism and provide information about products and services offered.
• Support retail sales efforts by promoting special offers and new products to customers.
