Work schedules are flexible per the needs of the business. And we are closed on Sunday. SUMMARY: The Deli Manager is responsible for ensuring operational success at all levels in the Deli. The Deli Manager is responsible for properly ordering and receiving shipment that is delivered to their location, per the Lassens Receiving Procedure, ensuring inventory within their department is accurate. The Deli Manager is the foremost authority on all Deli products Lassens provides, and leads the Deli Team with passion for those products. The Deli Manager creates and maintains department displays, ensures all pricing is accurate by placing the correct shelf tags and sale signs throughout the department, and shares their knowledge of Lassens monthly AD’s and sales in the Deli Department with customers. The Deli Manager provides leadership for all aspects of the Deli, including Team Member development and accountability. Deli Managers accomplish targeted labor, growth, and sales margins. A Deli Manager may be expected to obtain extensive knowledge of Natural Foods and some basic knowledge of Nutritional Supplements including vitamins, herbs, amino acids, sports nutrition, food supplements, and health and beauty aids. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Give customers immediate and undivided attention 2. Work with the Store Manager to create and maintain a labor schedule to leverage productivity within the needs of the department. 3. Ensure food quality and proper presentation of all food items and that recipes are followed accurately. 4. Reports any and all violations of policy and unsafe working are reported to the Manager On Duty or Store Manager immediately upon discovery 5. Follow all food safety regulations including proper labeling, dating, storage and rotation 6. Strictly adhere to all recipes, instruction cards and maps & schematic guidelines  7. Achieve required sales, margin, expense and labor targets 8. Know product availability, preparation, storage and nutritional aspects and ensure product mix meets varied customer dietary needs and requests 9. Ensure department orders for equipment, supplies and products are timely and accurate 10. Maintain accurate retail pricing and signage 11. Communicate company goals and information to Team Members 12. Communicate effectively with team members regarding all operation and performance issues, verbally and through email documentation. 13. Keep the Store Manager informed of all events that affect the department 14. Schedules and leads department team meetings; attends store and regional meetings 15. Observes all deli policies, procedures, safety rules, cleanliness and sanitation, and Weight and Measures directives. 16. All other duties assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Two years food-service management experience  2. Food Handlers’ Card SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  A Deli Manager’s responsibilities include interviewing and training Deli Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; regularly reviewing and responding to communications from the Administrative Team on the Daily News & Actions document; appraising and documenting performance and job results, rewarding and disciplining Team Members as needed; addressing complaints and resolving problems with customers and Team Members.
