We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about high quality food and beverages. We need someone who is Customer Service oriented and can motivate others. We are looking for an individual who can make a commitment to sustainable values and to us by becoming a member of our Deli Team. This is an hourly, full time position that includes weekends. Discount card, medical and dental benefits (FT) and gain sharing (FT) available.
Purpose: To oversee deli staff, production of items, and promotion of deli service department.
Status: Reports to Company Management, Store Manager, and works with Food Service Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS
§ Culinary degree or equivalent 2-3 years job experience.
§ Experience in production cooking preferred.
§ Ability to prepare foods for different diet restrictions, including vegan and vegetarian.
§ Natural Foods food service experience preferred.
§ Knowledge of sanitary food handling and preparation techniques.
§ Familiarity with natural food, nutrition, and food sensitivities.
§ CA Food Handlers Certification.
§ Supervisory experience, 2 or more years - hiring, training, evaluating, directing.
§ Excellent organizational and time management skills.
§ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly nature.
§ Ability to project friendly, outgoing personality.
§ Ability to work as a positive team member.
§ Willing to work a flexible schedule
§ Experience delegating tasks and maintaining fast speed of service.
§ Experience serving the public.
§ Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands and follow through on commitments.
§ Communications skills–good listener, clear instructions, ability to coach in difficult situations.

a. Hands on customer service in deli department. Including making sandwiches and serving from the case.
b. Maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the deli. Maintain an aesthetically pleasing, well-balanced deli case, including vegan, vegetarian, and meat dishes.
c. Communicate with food service manager regarding Grab n Go and Bakery item orders.
d. Ensure accurate, uniform signage is in place. Communicate with Marketing Manager as needed for new signs.
e. Plan attractive displays to ensure displays are fully stocked, rotated to ensure freshness, and give an appearance of abundance.
