Description Summary of Job: The Delivery Drive will transport materials within Erie / Niagara County, safely and professionally. Deliveries will be made safely, with a good attitude, on time, and in the right location(s). The incumbent will also backup or cover for material handler when on PTO. Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Load, deliver and unload the delivery truck; deliver parts, packages or materials by driving, climbing in and out of the vehicle, walking upstairs and through driveways in all weather conditions, and delivering packages safely and punctually. · Follow strict safety standards on and off the road · Track daily deliveries and mileage · Follow all safety procedures and company policies. · Maintain a professional, clean and safe work area (and vehicle). · Other related duties as assigned. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: · A legal and valid Driver’s License, Class D within NYS and a clear MVR, required · Able to operate and navigate a Company owned delivery van, weighing 10,000 lbs. or less. · Drive attentively and lawfully in accordance with all local, state, and federal traffic regulations. · Full stop at stop signs; obeying speed limits; and maintain safe following distances · Avoid use of cell phone calls while driving, only using hands free talk in emergency situations only. · Forklift experience preferred. · Basic math and detail-oriented skills. · Ability to communicate and work with others. · Self-motivated, organized, and able to work well under deadlines. · High School Diploma, or GED. Physical Job Requirements and Work Environment · Able to move boxes or materials up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations. · Use of hearing protection, eye protection and safety shoes required. Hearing and eye protection provided. Safety shoes and prescription safety eyewear covered by reimbursement program.
Responsibilities
The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and professionally transporting and delivering materials within Erie/Niagara County, which includes loading, unloading, and tracking daily deliveries. This role also requires backing up or covering for the material handler during their paid time off.
