Description

Bargreen Ellingson is looking to hire a Delivery Driver for our Vancouver branch! This role provides excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries of customer orders. They also make pick-ups as necessary, perform general warehouse duties, and provide customer assistance as needed. They are expected to perform all job responsibilities in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or Equivalent
  • Regular attendance is necessary with the possibility of mandatory overtime.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Desire to succeed in a high-growth, fast-paced retail environment
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, or carry; reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance or stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently required to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Constant use of hand trucks to lift, move and place deliveries.
  • Must be able to safely tolerate heat or other inclement weather.
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear; read and identify numbers for accurate order filling and receiving of material. Apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks. The employee is required to be able to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack and/or wire-cutting machine.

Responsibilities
  • Load trucks accurately and safely for customer deliveries.
  • Unload trucks as needed at customer and/or branch locations.
  • Drive company vehicles to make customer deliveries and stock pick-ups, obeying traffic laws and safety procedures. Maintain appropriate licensing, credentials and acceptable driving record.
  • Conduct self professionally and ethically at all times. Treat external and internal customers and associates with courtesy and respect.
  • Fill customer orders by retrieving material from the warehouse and other locations.
  • Check in and put away material, verifying quantities and quality of received material. Maintain clear isles and walkways. Ensure that the material is properly organized.
  • Continuously update product knowledge. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability. Know the location of merchandise in the warehouse.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training as directed or desired.
  • Answer telephones professionally and pleasantly, assisting customers, taking orders and providing excellent customer service.
  • Report back orders or discrepancies.
  • Perform vehicle and/or forklift inspections as required, and schedule routine or repair maintenance as needed. Maintain presentable truck appearance, cleaning as needed.
  • Perform other responsibilities as directed.
  • Perform all duties safely and responsibly, following all safety rules. Inform the manager of any potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Must maintain an insurable driving record.
