Description Clackamas County Children’s Commission Delivery Driver Reports to: Nutrition Services Manager Supervises: No direct reports Classification: Non-exempt; Represented Pay Grade: GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Delivers food and materials to Head Start locations daily throughout Clackamas County, meeting all sanitation requirements, assigned timelines and following safety rules. Pick up material as directed. 36 hour a week position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Operated agency vehicles following all safety rules. Operate agency vehicles safely and in accordance with all regulations and law. Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen that complies with Health Department standards. Ensure timely transportation of perishable foods, documenting delivery temperatures to maintain food safety. Purchases and picks up food and supplies from local retailers and wholesale vendors. Keeps interiors of delivery vehicle clean daily and exteriors as needed. Perform routine maintenance and refueling on agency vehicles, carts and equipment. Reports any needed repairs to vehicle as needed to Facilities Manager. Verify the accuracy of all pickups and deliveries. ADDITIONAL DUTIES Reports suspected child abuse in accordance with Oregon Statute and Head Start procedures. Attend and actively participate in training sessions and opportunities. Adhere to Clackamas County Children’s Commission’s core Competencies. Collaborate with other staff to provide services to children and families. Maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information. Engage with children, families, and community members in a supportive and professional manner. Follow safety best practices for driving, loading, unloading, and lifting all loads. Performs all other duties as assigned. Program Participation and Team Member: Arrive to work on time; punctually attend and actively participate in all required activities, meetings, and trainings. Be a respectful, cooperative, and reliable team member and participant in program activities. Project a professional work image, both in dress and manner. Be familiar with, and adhere to, position-related policies and procedures as well as the program’s overarching objectives. Follow Agency policy/procedures for reporting and documenting suspected child abuse and/or neglect. Code of Conduct: Perform all work in compliance with the Clackamas County Children’s Commission Code of Conduct. Confidentiality: Respect and maintain confidentiality of information regarding enrolled children and families, personnel issues, and other program operations as appropriate Training: In consultation with supervisor, develop professional work goals and training plan. Participate in training as requested SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to effectively manage time while navigating driving routes Skilled in defensive driving techniques and driving in inclement weather conditions Excellent customer service skills Knowledge of or ability to establish working relationships with staff High performance through creativity, positive spirit, and multi-tasking Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people High personal integrity and sound professional ethics Excellent interpersonal communication skills Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Ability to work use time effectively and work with minimal direct supervision Ability to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and insured vehicle available for use on the job (or have alternative transportation). Ability to possess and maintain compliance with State of Oregon Criminal Background Registry. Ability to possess and maintain current First Aid/CPR certification. Ability to obtain and maintain an Oregon Food Handler’s Card DESIRED QUALIFICATONS Bilingual skills: oral and written fluency in English with fluency also in Spanish WORKING CONDITIONS Works assigned schedule and exhibits regular and predictable attendance. Work requires travel to off-campus locations. Work is sometimes performed in an emotional and stressful environment. Sitting, kneeling, bending, lifting Requirements Education and Experience: U.S. High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent – OR – ability to complete GED within one year of hire Ability to carry out oral and written directions, read, and speak at a level sufficient to fulfill the duties to be performed for the position described. Current driver’s license, two years of driving experience and driving record which meets agency requirements and ability to be insured by insurance carrier. Ability to lift 50 pounds daily.
