JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Truck Driver is responsible for delivering products and/or supplies to customers, vendors, jobsites, or other corporate locations. Duties include, operating freight handling equipment, maintenance and operation of company vehicles, verification of administrative paperwork, and working with the public at large. The Truck Driver must safely perform all assigned tasks with sufficient speed and accuracy to avoid adverse impact on level of customer.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

o Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, management, other employees, in person, by telephone, or by FM radio.
o Clean Drivers Abstract – Will reimburse upon hire
o Hydraulic Experience
o Air Brakes Endorsement
o Ability to work in all weather conditions, fast-paced, and dynamic workplace
o Effective written and oral communication skills
o Able to operate standard transmission
o Safety mindset
o High attention to detail
o Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends, evening, and holidays.
o Must be able to visually verify content of shipments.
o High School graduation or equivalent
o Management or supervisory experience
o Plumbing and Electrical knowledge or experience
o Experience in the home improvement industry is advantageous
o Exceptional customer service skills
o Able to handle physical work
o Functional knowledge of merchandising, operations, and retail management
o Computer experience/technical aptitude

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Cap-Pelé, NB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• delivery driving: 1 year (required)

Language:

• English & French (Bilingual) (required)

Licence/Certification:

• Class 5 Licence (required)

Work Location: On the roa

• Deliver materials to private homes and construction sites safely
• Work in the yard and in the store actively helping customers
• Prepare trucks for loading and assist warehouse staff as required
• Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and safety
• Maintain contact with dispatch and work to resolve any issues
• Verify load security and accuracy
• Report defects, violations, accidents or injuries
• Act professionally at all times
• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures
• Other duties as assigned by manager
