OVERALL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
To deliver and collect products on behalf of Cotterill Drainage safely and efficiently
The vehicles used will predominantly be:
- 7.5t Truck & Sprinter and 6mtr Flat Bed Trailer. (Trailer Experience is Essential)
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- To obey transport and driving laws
- To complete daily vehicle safety checks and fill in record
- Obey traffic commissioner operating licence rules
- Secure own loads before travelling
- Handball offloading will be required at times
- To monitor, measure and share reports from your team to your direct report
- Following processes and procedures specific to your role
- To be aware of and follow all company wide policies and procedures set out in our handbook and intranet site
- To “raise your hand” and flag up any concerns you have about your role and workload
Other associated tasks
- Daily Checks on vehicle and trailer condition, lights, tyres etc
- Checking spare wheel, jack, brace, high viz, warning triangle, first aid kit before leaving the yard
- Correct storage of load straps and nets when not in use
- Lubricating load strap ratchets when required
- Refuelling delivery vehicles
- Cleaning company vehicles & equipment
- Loading outgoing vehicles.
- Manually loading vehicles and trailers with product, according to delivery note
- Putting stickers on product and double checking quantities before it leaves yard
- Driving vehicles to customer destinations
- To have CPC, B + E entitlement, digicard licence
- Must be able to change wheel on vehicle or trailer
- Must be able to use company provided satellite navigation system
- To have a mobile phone tuned to a hands free device, Bluetooth or otherwise
- To be safety inducted and signed to say so
- Providing tachograph results at the end of each shift
- To hand in signed delivery notes after each delivery
- Follow correct procedure when arriving at the customer’s destination.
- Meeting with customer and assist in off loading product
- Ensuring customer receives a brochure & delivery note
- Obtaining signature for delivery received
- Obtaining other forms of POD such as digital devices
- The list is by no means exhaustive but gives a good incite as to what is expected

Qualifications required
7.5 Tonne (CPC & DIGI Card)
Positive “Can Do” attitude
5 years experience in similar role
Full clean UK driving licence
