JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting newspapers and magazines to various locations while ensuring timely and safe deliveries. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Access to own van essential but arrangements can be made if candidate does not own one.
Availability from 1.30am to 6am essential. Weekends availability essential.

SKILLS

  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record; experience driving larger vehicles is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during loading and unloading processes.
  • Previous warehouse experience is beneficial, particularly in logistics or inventory management.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to designated locations.
  • Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling of products during transit.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times and any issues encountered.
  • Communicate with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any changes.
  • Assist in warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and organisation of stock.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
