Description JOB PURPOSE: The Delivery Driver will move parts, goods, and other merchandise from one location to another, as well as fulfill other shipping and warehouse duties assigned by the supervisor. HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday - Friday, 5:30 am - 2 pm TRAINING HOURS: Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 3 pm (6 weeks) $21.00 - $23.00 / hour Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures. Adhere to the Quality Policy, including all items assigned to this position in accordance with ISO policies, procedures and work instructions. Comply with the work rules and standards set forth in the Kato Cable Employee Handbook. Follows direction given by managers for efficient delivery and pick up route for the day. Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery. Delivers parcels to correct addresses, obtaining signatures and proof of receipt when necessary. Picks up parcels along the scheduled route, including items to be returned, company orders, and other items as requested. Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made. Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor. Assists in general warehouse duties when delivery route is completed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Operate tier-lift truck or use hand-truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from trucks, storage or work areas. Demonstrate ability to meet department requirement on specific assignments within a reasonable time, depending on the degree of difficulty of their job functions. Act as shipping and kitting back-up, as needed. Assist in production as needed. QUALIFICATIONS Experience, Competencies and Education Must possess an education or experience level that permits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignments and responsibilities of the job. Must also have basic computer knowledge. High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Experience driving a box truck. Must be able to obtain a health card. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret the documents relating to the job, function or assignment. Mathematical Skills Ability to perform basic mathematical equations. Reasoning Ability Ability to make decisions when identifying in-process problems. Ability to deal with a variety of job assignments. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: Ability to drive safely. Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps. Ability to plan delivery routes. Ability to maintain basic logs and records. Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision. Able to remain professional and courteous at all times. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather. Ability to operate a pallet jack & forklift.
