Description SUMMARY: Performs safe and reliable transport of animal models and/or goods to clients via motorized vehicle while following any and all rules and regulations set forth by the Department of Agriculture, Department of Transportation, IACUC, etc., and is representative of our Company Values and Beliefs while doing so. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Understand and follow all Bio Security procedures and protocols. Understand and follow all State and Federal Law’s regarding intrastate/ interstate transport rules and regulations set forth by the Department of Transportation. Understand and be able to follow SBR Delivery Disaster plan in the event of an emergency. Participate in the proper handling of animals while being placed onto and/or removed from delivery vehicles. Understanding of correct temperature settings, feed amount and water intake requirements, direct supportive care for identified distressed animals, and/or any special requirements for shipped animals in accordance to the guidelines set forth by the Company and/or the Animal Welfare Act and the ability to perform those requirements. Participate in all essential data collection for deliveries such as animal welfare checks, mileage, purchases, vehicle inspections, etc. Perform daily DOT vehicle inspections and report any deficiencies to Supervisor and participate with light maintenance duties and cleaning of Company vehicles. Assist in communicating and/or contacting clients with delivery information and/or basic knowledge questions and shall also report any questions or concerns relayed to them by clients to Supervisor. Reflect and maintain a professional appearance and attitude while representing the Company at all times. Perform all other duties as assigned. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have and maintain a Class E driver’s License with the ability to receive a Class B Commercial Driver’s License if asked or needed. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This position is classified as Non-Exempt and qualifies for overtime pay. Position may be full-time or part-time. If full-time position the employee is required to work at least 80-hours each two-week pay period. Due to the nature of our business employee’s must be present at SRC 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which results in varying work hours. This position may require punctuality, regular attendance, long hours and weekend work. All employees in this position will be assigned work as production and other needs require, and employees must be flexible in moving between job assignments and work schedules. TRAVEL: Some travel may be necessary for this position including conventions and off-site meetings. Travel is primarily local during the business day.
Responsibilities
