We are growing Asian food importer and distributor. Currently we are seeking to appoint a hand-on candidate to manage the daily operations of our retail store located in Cairns.
Responsible for the smooth running of the store, and maintain the store standards by participating in the day to day running of the shop. Keep the store and displays clean and tidy at times. Operating the till and accurately handling cash, cheques and credit/debit card and own transactions. Respond to orders received from the phone by processing sales and packaging orders. Follow cashing up procedures. Assist in changing display of shop stock. Receiving deliveries, unpacking and re-shelving or storing stock. Looking after all aspects of the shop while Store Supervisor/Manager is away. Ensuring all fire exits and escape routes are kept free from obstruction. Being vigilant at all times to help minimize stock loss.

Skills Required:

• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong Customer Service skills
• Good relationship building skills
• Be ready and able to work within a team
• Enjoy working with the public
• Valid Driver’s license
• Forklift license preferred
• Have a polite, helpful manner
• Cash handling experiences
• Be good with numbers, and able to use modern computerised equipment such as cash tills
• Energetic, driven and proactive
• Exposure to the food industry is desirable, but not essential.
