OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Driver’s Mate to join our team. In this role, you will assist the driver in delivering and installing Electrical goods to various locations, ensuring that all deliveries are made efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service while adhering to safety regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s licence is essential; experience driving a vehicle is advantageous.
  • Communication with customers on your route to advise of delivery time and of any delays or issues.
  • Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and safety standards.
  • Experience as a drivers mate is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and customers.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and remain physically active throughout the shift.

  • Assist the driver with loading and unloading goods from the vehicle, ensuring safe handling of items.
  • Help navigate routes and provide support during deliveries to ensure timely arrival at destinations.
  • Maintain clear communication with the driver regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
  • Ensure that all delivery paperwork is completed accurately and promptly.
  • Conduct basic vehicle checks before departure, including checking for any damage or maintenance issues.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organised environment.
  • Perform heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper lifting techniques are used to prevent injury.
