Description
Kela is a secure, open platform enabling rapid and seamless integration of commercial and military systems in service of Western defense. Designed and battle-tested by Israeli innovators, Kela ensures the West meets today’s frontline challenges and evolves with tomorrow’s innovations. We are seeking a Delivery Engineer to be a significant contributor to our Delivery Engineering domain. This role involves executing production changes and managing key aspects of complex deployments across our customer environments. The Delivery Engineer serves as a vital link between the R&D, Product, Support, and Field teams, ensuring smooth, cross-functional alignment. If you thrive on hands-on deployment execution, enjoy cross-team collaboration, are dedicated to process efficiency, and ensure that "production stays production," this role is a great fit. What You’ll Be Doing: Execute and manage specific production deployments: software versions, hotfixes, and configuration changes. Maintain a working understanding of the full deployment picture, including software services, dependencies, and the impact on infrastructure. Lead pre-production UAT deployments and execute sanity checks, ensuring system readiness before every major production push. Perform risk and impact assessments for changes, and coordinate with stakeholders on deployment windows and timelines. Be an effective internal and external deployment coordinator, keeping Product, R&D, Support, and Field teams in the loop. Draft and lead internal and customer-facing deployment communications, from scheduling to post-deployment status updates. Track, document, and report on deployments, proactively updating runbooks and installation procedures. Actively participate in and contribute to deployment retrospectives, driving small-scale process improvements in delivery. Serve as an operational resource for deployment execution questions, escalating complex issues as needed. Provide operational support and act as an escalation point for production incidents. Requirements 3+ years of hands-on experience in mission-critical environments, software deployment, production change management, technical delivery, or technical operations roles. Hands-on experience with Linux environments, working knowledge of Kubernetes, and familiarity with network components and databases. Strong working knowledge of end-to-end deployment workflows, from testing to production rollout and post-deployment verification. Demonstrated working knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and their impact on application deployment and troubleshooting. Excellent organizational skills, with sharp attention to detail and a commitment to process adherence. Proven cross-team communication skills, especially in time-sensitive situations. Scripting ability (Bash, Python) for routine automation and deployment-related tasks. Nice to Have: Experience assisting with hardware deployment enablement and coordinating with Field Engineering teams. Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools (e.g., Jira, Linear) or monitoring platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
