Description
Job Description Innovation at the core. Powering a smarter future. At Vector, we’re shaping the future of energy in Aotearoa by embracing innovation, championing new ideas, and delivering digital solutions that support a cleaner, more resilient and more connected future for Tāmaki Makaurau. We’re investing in modern technologies, IoT capability, automation and real‑time insights that keep the lights on, strengthen our network, and enhance customer experience. If you’re excited by meaningful work that impacts millions and want to help build what’s next, then read on. The Role As our Delivery Lead – EGF (Network Operations & Gas), you will play a pivotal role in delivering technology and operational improvement initiatives that strengthen the resilience, visibility and performance of our energy network. You’ll work at the intersection of operational technology, digital systems, IoT, integration, and continuous improvement, leading the end‑to‑end delivery of projects across the Network Operations and Gas value streams. This includes initiatives such as enhanced network visibility (IED/IoT projects), system upgrades, operational process improvements, and cross‑portfolio delivery opportunities across Energy, Gas & Fibre. This is a role for someone who brings clarity and structure to evolving environments, with strong delivery experience, discipline, and the ability to create momentum and great team experiences as processes mature. You’ll join a highly capable delivery community, with pathways to grow into other value streams including Customer Operations, Network Planning & Performance, and wider digital portfolios. What you’ll do On any given week, you will: Lead the delivery of digital technology projects - from inception through to implementation and benefits realisation. Drive delivery excellence using both agile and traditional methodologies, applying the right approach for each initiative. Manage vendors, procurement activity, RFP processes and Statements of Work. Ensure high‑quality project artefacts, user stories, acceptance criteria, and Jira boards that enable clarity and accountability. Navigate delivery in an environment where some processes and documentation are evolving - knowing when to ask the right questions and when to roll up your sleeves. Build strong relationships across technical, operational and leadership groups - including presenting delivery updates to senior stakeholders. Foster an environment where project teams feel supported, planned for, and able to do their best work. Champion Vector’s “Own It” and customer‑first behaviours, ensuring projects deliver value and uplift customer experience. What you’ll bring You’re an experienced Delivery Lead or Project Manager who blends technical delivery capability with strong communication, curiosity and a focus on people. You know how to create order in complexity, move teams forward, and build trust through clarity and follow‑through. To succeed, you’ll bring: Demonstrated delivery leadership /project management experience across technology environments. Experience delivering operational technology, systems integration, and digital/technology projects. Strong vendor management and procurement experience (RFPs, SOWs, commercial understanding). Proven experience applying both Agile and Waterfall frameworks. Experience in utilities or asset‑intensive industries - highly advantageous. Ability to independently navigate complex or unclear processes and create structure where it’s missing. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate context, risks and progress clearly to diverse stakeholder groups (including senior leaders). Outstanding time management, prioritisation, attention to detail and delivery discipline. A mindset of ownership, quality, curiosity, and continuous improvement. Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or similar are an advantage. Why Vector? At Vector, great energy starts with great people. Here, you’ll: Work on challenging, meaningful projects that strengthen the energy future of Tāmaki Makaurau. Learn, grow and build your career with clear pathways and internal mobility. Be part of a team that values diversity of thinking and encourages you to bring your whole self to work. Enjoy a culture that champions wellbeing, flexibility and development. Join a place where your work matters, where what you deliver keeps the lights on, strengthens our networks, and supports the customers who rely on us every day. Apply now We know the perfect candidate doesn’t always check every box, if this opportunity excites you and you believe you can make an impact, we’d love to hear from you. Be part of shaping the next chapter of energy in New Zealand. Additional Information We know that some people may hesitate to apply if they don’t meet every single requirement.
