Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Digital, Data and Technology Delivery Manager, you will get the opportunity to work on a range of projects across the department. You’ll be involved in the delivery of products and services working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. You’ll engage with policy officials to support the delivery of the department’s priority outcomes. You’ll be adept at identifying barriers and supporting your team or teams in overcoming them, by both planning at a higher level and getting into the details to make things happen when needed. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the delivery team and our ways of working.
You will be pragmatic, a good communicator and enjoy working in a demanding, high profile environment. You will be passionate about agile working, with an interest in technology. You believe that how you work is as important as what you deliver. You will support and guide teams through change and support the Portfolio team on the implementation of our new demand management process.
You’ll have experience in working on Digital, Data and Technology initiatives and always be seeking to help upskill non-technical and non-digitally minded colleagues so they can become an ‘intelligent customer’ or service owner for the ongoing digital service in the future.

As a Delivery Manager, you will:

  • Be responsible for managing products and services that are being discovered, defined and delivered by multiple teams, which have high technical and/or political risk. You’ll work with multidisciplinary team members to help them improve their practices for optimal performance and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Drive delivery momentum, solve issues and unblock problems, setting sustainable pace whilst ensuring teams are working towards delivery commitments and specific outcomes. At times, this means being comfortable with accountability and uncertainty, and being the escalation point for internal and external issues.
  • Support the iterative development and improvement of services and digital products whilst building trust with stakeholders, colleagues and leaders so as to encourage a culture of growth through applying the most appropriate Agile and Lean tools and techniques.
  • Motivate and communicate between complex stakeholder groups, using influence and awareness to balance key priorities, appropriately communicating and advocating both direction and change.
  • Collaborate and work with multidisciplinary teams, using a thorough understanding of the variety of disciplines involved in digital delivery, including engineering, service design, product management, performance analysis and user research.
  • Manage the evaluation and selection of appropriate procurement frameworks and suitable suppliers delivering cost efficiencies while maintaining service quality.
  • Manage budgets and financial planning processes.
