JOB DESCRIPTION

The Shingle Truck Drivers are responsible for accurately and safely delivering shingles and related roofing materials to customer job sites. The Shingle Truck Driver and helper will load/stock exterior building materials on residential and commercial roofs or job sites. There is an extra pay incentive for delivering shingles, the additional pay is per shingle bundle going on a roof and per shingle bundle going from the truck to the conveyer.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B with Air Brakes
  • Must be at least age 21 and have a good driving record to drive company vehicle
  • Must pass pre-employment testing (physical, drug, back assessment)
  • Capable of operating a truck with a manual transmission
  • Able and comfortable walking and stocking roofs of varying height and pitch
  • Customer service skills and attention to detail
  • Minimally must be able to lift 50-100 pounds
Responsibilities
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness of the truck
  • Report maintenance issues to fleet service manager
  • Provide directions to co-worker on the shingle truck
  • Collect and submit C.O.D. payments when applicable
  • Deliver building materials to customers roof top or job site
  • Walk job site and complete job site inspection form and other paperwork
  • Communicate with yard dispatch regarding difficult job sites and deliveries
  • Operate conveyor to stock roofing materials onto roof tops
  • Check for anchor points and securely install roof cleats when applicable
  • Comply with all company policies and OSHA safety regulations
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
