Responsibilities

OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

Wandsworth is a borough with big ambitions—ambitions rooted in delivering more for our residents. It’s not about doing more for the sake of it but about meeting the high expectations our communities rightly have of us: cleaner, safer streets, responsive services, and a council that delivers on its promises.
As a Delivery Unit Partner, you’ll play a key leadership role in a new team focused on turning ambition into action. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and services across the council to identify delivery priorities, track progress, and build the capacity and momentum needed to drive accountability and results.
You’ll bring strategic insight, strong collaboration skills, and a passion for public service. This is a unique opportunity to help shape how we deliver for our communities and ensure our strategic ambitions—like those set out in the London Growth Plan—translate into real outcomes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Wandsworth Delivery Unit Partner, you will lead a small team who will connect service areas that need support directly to the Executive Director of Change & Innovation, Chief Executive and Leader.
You will work alongside colleagues, building on the strength and skills across the organisation for future delivery.
You will provide insight into the challenges of service delivery, collaborate with service areas to form plans for rapid improvement, then stand alongside these services to support them in delivering the improvements.
You will take an evidence-led approach, putting qualitative and quantitative data together to get to the heart of why service delivery needs to improve.
You will support the Delivery Unit Programme Director in presenting the data to the Executive Director of Change & Innovation, Chief Executive and Leader of the Council regularly to demonstrate progress on agreed improvement work.
