Description
  • Develop and maintain optimal inventory levels based on sales forecasts, historical data, and demand trends.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and supply chain teams to ensure timely product availability and minimize stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Monitor stock levels, set reorder points, and create replenishment plans that align with sales cycles and promotional events.
  • Ensure the right product assortment and quantities are maintained at different stages of the product lifecycle to avoid overstock and stockouts.
  • Establish reorder points and manage order quantities to optimize stock levels, ensuring timely product availability for customer demand.
  • Monitor stock turnover rates, inventory aging, and obsolete stock to minimize carrying costs and prevent markdowns.

Ø Sales Analysis:

  • Analyze sales data regularly to identify trends, high-performing products, and potential risks in inventory levels.
  • Provide insights on product performance, seasonality, and customer demand to help guide assortment and purchasing decisions.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to present data on sales, inventory, and trends to relevant stakeholders.

Ø Open-to-Buy (OTB) Management:

  • Manage OTB budgets to ensure alignment with inventory needs and financial goals.
  • Monitor OTB throughout the buying and sales cycles, adjusting plans to prevent over- or under-purchasing.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to align OTB plans with overall budget forecasts and financial objectives.
  • Plan and allocate OTB by season, factoring in lead times, sales forecasts, and inventory turnover goals.
  • Regularly adjust OTB plans based on actual sales performance and inventory levels, optimizing purchasing to maintain profitability.

Ø Discount and Margin Analysis:

  • Conduct margin analysis to ensure pricing and discount strategies are profitable and meet the company’s financial targets.
  • Set pricing strategies to achieve targeted margins, balancing discounts and promotions with profitability.
  • Review and analyze product margins regularly, making data-driven recommendations to maximize profitability and minimize markdowns.
  • Develop markdown strategies for end-of-season and slow-moving products, working with sales and merchandising teams to execute effective discount plans.
  • Evaluate the impact of discounts and promotions on sales, profit margins, and inventory levels, and adjust strategies accordingly.

Ø Sales and Discount Planning:

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create seasonal and promotional sales plans that maximize revenue and maintain brand value.
  • Set discount and promotional strategies to drive sales and manage excess inventory effectively.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of discount and promotional campaigns to ensure alignment with margin and sales targets.
  • Create sales forecasts for promotional periods, incorporating past performance, seasonality, and campaign objectives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in inventory planning, sales analysis, merchandising, and financial planning.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, data analysis tools and inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in inventory and sales data interpretation in addition to discount and margin planning.
