Role Summary: The Demand Planner is responsible for all sales forecasting, inventory planning, ordering and replenishment activities associated with the nominated products from their Department. Main Functions: Review historical sales trends and evaluate past results Prepare and update weekly forecast data, including accounting for updated marketing plans Reconcile significant variances and improve forecast accuracy Provide feedback and suggestions to the Department on inventory risks and opportunities Work collaboratively to drive consensus decisions with the Planner and the Buyer Regularly interact with Departments, Supply Chain, Retail Ops, the Global Sourcing Office and Suppliers Determine order quantities and delivery / flow schedule Make use of the appropriate Supply Chain Channel Manage the placement of Orders with Suppliers and the raising of Pos with supply planners Manage orders through to hand over including decisions on push backs, pull forwards and cancellations Manage Store Stock Targets that drive Replenishment including any inputs / uploads to SAP Manage Stock dynamically to provide enough stock for Promotions communicated by the Department and for Seasonal uplifts / downturns Maintain the In Stock position ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time to support catalogues and other business initiatives Key Skills: Background in Merchandise Planning or Allocation within a large organisation, preferably Retail Numerical, analytical and inquisitive Forward thinker and problem solver Self-starter and high attention to detail Very strong commercial / retail acumen Proactive, collaborative approach Ability to build strong working relationships, but also able to work independently Resilient when challenged Background with SAP useful Advanced Excel (inc v-lookups and pivot tables) + VB programming skills are advantages, but not necessities
