POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Demand Planning Manager will be responsible for incorporating current and accurate market information into customer demand forecasts, which will provide the entire organization with the appropriate information to plan how to meet that demand. Specializing in inventory and planning within the wine and spirits industry, the Demand Planning Manager will also lead a monthly S&OP process and be the key resource for all demand-related issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Supply Chain Management or logistics preferred.
- 3+ years of demand planning, operations, or 3PL provider experience
- Knowledge of planning and inventory management software (e.g., ERP).
- Expert knowledge of Excel.
- PowerBI experience a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
- Ability to assimilate and process data from a wide range of sources.
- Knowledge of distribution channels required.
- Expert knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop unconstrained demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
- Conduct and lead meetings with Sales, Supply Chain and High-Level Executives to understand key demand forecast drivers
- Utilize a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Brand Managers, and Finance to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts
- Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities through addressing demand-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaboratively establish, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); including forecast accuracy, bias and new product performance to plan
- Analyze and improve forecast accuracy; effectively determines sources of error and implement appropriate improvement plans
- Provide input to the operations department through developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
- Assist in implementation of demand planning tools and best practices
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
