A little taste of your day-to-day: Your role will include but not be limited to: * Prepare, cook, and present food items in accordance with standard recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines. * Assist the Chef de Partie in managing the daily operations of the assigned kitchen section.  * Ensure food is prepared and served to the highest quality standards and within established timelines.  * Supervise, guide, and support Commis Chefs and kitchen attendants to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to standards.  * Monitor food quality, freshness, and consistency throughout the preparation and service process.  * Maintain adequate stock levels within the assigned section and communicate purchasing requirements to the Chef de Partie. * Ensure proper food storage, stock rotation (FIFO), and labeling in accordance with food safety standards.  * Minimize food waste through effective planning, portion control, and proper handling of ingredients.  * Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.  * Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and health and safety regulations.  * Assist with receiving, checking, and storing food deliveries according to company procedures.  * Support inventory counts and stock control activities as required.  * Train and mentor junior kitchen team members to enhance their skills and maintain operational standards.  * Work collaboratively with all kitchen and service teams to ensure a seamless guest dining experience.  * Perform any other duties assigned by the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Chef de Partie. Ideally, you'll have some or all the following qualifications and experience we're looking for * Previous experience in a commis chef within a hotel or restaurant setting. * Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. * Passionate about food and cooking with a keen interest in learning. * Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively.
