What you can expect

On the ground floor of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, you will find the authentic Japanese Yamazato Restaurant. Here, more than fifty specialties from traditional kaiseki ryori cuisine, Japanese haute cuisine, are served. Thanks to the use of typical Japanese materials in the interior and the adjacent garden with its beautiful cherry blossoms in the spring, you will feel transported to Japan. The authentic Japanese Yamazato Restaurant has been awarded one Michelin star since 2002. The standards governing kaiseki cuisine differ significantly from those of modern Japanese cuisine. Yamazato's menu is composed according to the classic kaiseki structure. The kitchen distinguishes itself by focusing on the purity of seasonal, traditional Japanese ingredients. The style is minimalist, and all dishes are in balance: from taste and texture to the appearance and colors of the dishes. Japanese tradition is reflected in the tableware and the waitresses' kimono attire.
