About the role Start your journey with the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa as a Demi Pastry Chef to help our passionate kitchen team to create mouth-watering food for our guests. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, you will form a key part of a team who areresponsible for providing high quality product to our luxury guests.   Critical responsibilities: * Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Chef to ensure optimum services * Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food * Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to be served * Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served * Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing * Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables * Wash and disinfect kitchen area including tables, tools, knives, and equipment * Prepare and cook food. * Set-up, clean and break down work station * Preparation and baking of all in house cakes, breads & pastries     Successful Candidates will have: * Previous experience in a similar environment will be viewed favorably * Trade qualification /be a qualified Pastry Chef * Strong food safety knowledge * Great communication skills  * Ability to work in a team and autonomously  * Passion for food and aspirations to grow your culinary career      The Benefits  Enjoy the benefits of: * Unlimited strategic development and career opportunities * Generous accommodation and food and beverage discounts including all properties within the Marriott International group * Recognition programs to keep you motivated * The best hotel training opportunities provided * Wellbeing and mindfulness programs to ensure you stay healthy Important notice for candidates: Job scams are on the rise.
