Job Description

We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic Demi Chef to join our talented kitchen brigade at the Sydney Domestic Lounges.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of your designated section, ensuring smooth preparation and service delivery.
  • Step in to assist other sections when needed, while also guiding and supporting junior chefs.
  • Bring your genuine passion for food quality to the kitchen, setting a positive and professional tone for your colleagues.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, and compliance standards, with a strong understanding of HACCP requirements.
  • Maintain consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in preparing and presenting all menu items.
  • Collaborate closely with the front-of-house team to deliver seamless and memorable experiences for our guests.
    Qualifications

Key requirements for this role include:

  • Previous experience in a Demi Chef or similar role within a high-volume commercial kitchen.
  • Experience with fine-dining presentation and cooking styles, across all sections (cold larder, pans, grill, sauces).
  • Knowledge of a wide range of cooking methods and techniques.
  • Experience working in a HACCP environment, with strong understanding of food safety compliance.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • A team player who supports colleagues and contributes to a positive workplace culture.
  • Ability to adhere to portion control, food waste, and production procedures.
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, with full availability on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays as required.
