What’s it like to work at “APDO” The Pediatric Dental Assistant is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for our patients and parents that focuses on education, relationship building, and upholding our concierge approach to high end Pediatric Dentistry. We aim to become a “dental home” to those in our community where they feel safe, valued, and heard. Key responsibilities include: Creating a friendly atmosphere for dental procedures, helping them feel comfortable and at ease. Educate children and parents about proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary habits. Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and procedures by providing the necessary instruments and materials, ensuring compliance with infection control for a safe and sterile environment. Coronal Polish and take digital dental x-rays, ensuring proper positioning and image quality. Collaborate with the dental team to develop effective treatment plans for patients. DANB x-ray certification. Coronal Polish certification (or in process of completing) Experience working in a pediatric dental setting is a plus but not required. Excellent communication skills, especially when interacting with children and parents. Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in helping young patients have positive dental experiences. Familiarity with dental software for charting and record-keeping. Knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
