JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and chairside assisting techniques. The Dental Assistant will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental clinic.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in dental assisting or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
  • Experience with medical imaging techniques and 3D scanners is a plus.
  • Knowledge of general dentistry procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
  • Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other pertinent information in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care.
  • Manage patient flow and maintain an organized schedule for appointments.
  • Perform administrative duties such as managing medical documentation, coding, and records as required.
  • Support pediatric patients with a gentle approach in pediatric dentistry settings.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high standards of infection control and safety protocols are followed.
