Dental Assistant

POSITION OVERVIEW

The region of Sioux Lookout is in need of Dentist Assistants to provide rotational coverage in their dental clinics. Calian is building a team of experienced and qualified Dental Assistants who can give as little as two weeks per year to working in the region. There is also the opportunity to work on contracts of up to 10 weeks in length.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association
• Valid CPR- Level C certification
• Experience working with First Nations or Inuit clients, or experience working in remote or rural locations
• Experience working in alternative practice settings, public health or community settings

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level

• Provide support to dentists during root canals, extractions, and other dental procedures, including sterilizing instruments to prevent infection
• Maintain inventory levels for dental equipment and supplies
• Delivered support to dental teams for a variety of oral procedures, including wisdom teeth extractions, fillings, and root canals
• Educated patients on proper dental hygiene, brushing, and flossing techniques to prevent cavities and gum disease
