HCF Dental is seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Assistant to join our team at the Castle Hill Dental Centre. This is a fantastic full-time opportunity for someone passionate about delivering exceptional clinical support and maintaining a welcoming, efficient environment for patients and team members. As a Dental Assistant, you will work alongside our dentists and Practice Manager to ensure high-quality patient care, compliance with our Dental Quality Management System, and the smooth running of day-to-day operations. Please note this is a full time fixed term position until mid January 2027 You will work 40 hours per week at our Castle Hill location. Key Responsibilities Provide clinical assistance to dentists, ensuring patient comfort and efficiency throughout their visit. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised clinical environment in accordance with HCF policies and procedures. Support the Practice Manager and Dentist in Charge, promoting teamwork and smooth dental centre operations. Monitor patient day sheets, prepare for patient lists, and accommodate emergencies where possible. Coordinate patient flow, including escorting, settling, and preparing patients for treatment. Assist with chair-side duties: instrument and material set-up, procedure support, mixing materials, data entry, and radiograph development. Uphold infection control standards, manage surgery changeover and cleaning, and perform equipment and stock maintenance. Process and sterilise instruments, maintain stock levels, and validate sterilisation cycles. Report any fraudulent behaviour or activity as required. Comply with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, policies, and procedures. Report hazards, near misses, and injuries promptly. Participate in meetings, training, and health and safety activities. Key Performance Areas Efficient management of handpieces, stock, and materials. Satisfactory assistance and competency in all dental assistant duties. Teamwork and cooperation, including flexibility for additional tasks. Good communication, punctuality, and attendance. Commitment to learning and adherence to infection prevention, WHS, and PPE standards. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Essential: Previous dental knowledge and experience. Neat appearance and sound personal hygiene. High level of confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy. Initiative and common sense in daily tasks. Basic computer literacy. Desirable: Reception experience or willingness to be cross-trained. Qualifications in radiography, sterilising, and/or first aid. Certificate III in Dental Assisting. Responsibilities
