DENTAL ASSISTANT POSITION - EASTERN CAROLINA DENTAL, JACKSONVILLE, NC - APPLY ONLINE!

We are searching for a team oriented individual who wants to provide excellent customer service for our patients, provide excellent support to our doctors, and possess a likable chair-side attitude. Ability to multitask, flexibility, a team oriented attitude, and attention to detail are a must!
We are a fast paced family comprehensive dental practice. Paperless office with digital radiographs and a knowledgeable and friendly team. This is a long standing practice in the area and is known for the great care we take with patients and employees alike.

Responsibilities of Dental Assistant

  • Assist Chair-side throughout various procedures in all aspects of Dentistry
  • Maintain CPR certification.
  • Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
  • Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
  • Clean and polish removable appliances.
  • Take and record medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients.
  • Record treatment information in patient records.
  • Expose dental diagnostic x-rays.
  • Actively provide hand instruments and materials as needed to Dentist during exams and procedures in order to help maintain patient comfort and Dentist’s efficiency.
  • Using and maintaining hazard control protocols as established by OSHA and office standards and NC regulations.
  • Strictly adhere to all HIPAA standards in order to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Must always represent the practice in a professional, pleasant, and cooperative manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedule and office policies.
  • Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments.
  • Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.

Requirements for DA Position

  • Minimum 1 year experience (required)
  • Good communications skills
  • Team oriented attitude
  • Ability to multi task
  • NC Radiation Certification (required)
  • NC Coronal Polish Certification (required)
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Open Dental experience (preferred)
