Dental Assistant Instructor - PT   About The Job  Fortis College in Norfolk is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Dental Assistant to join its faculty.  If you possess a desire to help others succeed, this is an opportunity for you to positively impact the lives and careers of our students and graduates.    Fortis provides educational programs that deliver real-life career skills in high-demand occupations that lead to employment upon graduation and a lifetime of professional growth.    Job Description  We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach in our Dental Assisting Program.  This is a part-time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean of Education.  The primary responsibility will be to teach Dental Assisting courses.  The typical teaching load is two courses each term, with one or two preparations. Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, and participate in department training, meetings, and graduation.      Requirements  * Completion of a Dental Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma; an associate degree in Dental Assisting is preferred but not required * Certification: * CDA and/or RDA and * DANB RHS and * Xray Certification * At least three years of experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, chairside, providing 4-handed and/or 6-handed dentistry * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  * Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven  * Prior higher education/postsecondary teaching experience preferred     
Responsibilities
The instructor will teach Dental Assisting courses and provide academic advising to students. They are also expected to participate in department training, meetings, and graduation ceremonies.
