Description Georgia Medical Staffing is in need of a dental assistant to work FT, 4 day week on an ongoing contract with the VA office in White River Junction, VT. See details and requirements below: Business Hours are defined as Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (7am-5:30pm). Pay: $25 per hour QUALIFICATIONS: · Must have a current, unrestricted registration as a dental assistant in the state of Vermont. · Have at least one year of creditable experience practicing as a full-time dental assistant (recent VA dental clinic experience preferred). · Certification. P.L. 97-35, Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act Of 1981, requires persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 C.F.R. Part 75, Standards for the Accreditation of Educational Programs for and the Credentialing of Radiologic Personnel. To meet this requirement, they must have successfully completed an educational program that meets or exceeds the standards described in that regulation and is accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education and be certified as radiographers in their field. · Provisions for certification of radiologic competence include the following options, with completion required within one month of onboarding: · Successful completion of the Dental Radiation Health and Safety Examination administered by the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc.; OR (b) Successful completion of the Principles and Practice of Dental Radiology and Radiographic Safety courses and examinations developed by the Assistant Under Secretary for Health for Dentistry. OR, (c) Successful completion of a radiation health and safety program or examination approved by a state board of dentistry or the Department of Defense DoD). · Ability to prioritize multiple tasks based on deadlines, importance, and scope of assignments. · Self-directed, detail-oriented, excellent at meeting deadlines with well-developed time management and organizational skills. · Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels of staff from varying backgrounds. · Mastery of oral and written communication skills with proficiency to convey information clearly and effectively. · Expert knowledge and skill in Microsoft 365 Office programs including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook. · Comprehensive experience with electronic health record systems and clinical terminology. · Must possess a current unrestricted driver's license in the United States and ability to drive a mobile dental clinic (commercial driver's license not required). · Be willing to meet any criteria set in administration, regional, and facility policies to begin and continue driving VA vehicles. · Be willing to complete all required training before operating any government vehicles and adhere to all the responsibilities for operating a government vehicle as outlined in VA Directive 0637, VA Vehicle Fleet Management Program. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist with Dental Procedures and Documentation: · Perform chairside dental assistant duties for all phases of dentistry. · Responsible for assisting the dentist and dental hygienist by preparing patients and instruments for dental treatment, measure and record vital signs, adjust treatment as needed to account for age specific needs of geriatric patients, and operate dental x-ray equipment, including evaluating images for diagnostic quality and utilizing dental imaging safety techniques. · Responsible for receiving and routing patients, recording information related to patient care, and providing patients with education material and proper verbal and written instructions related to their care. · Assist with electronic health/dental records, updating charts and treatment notes and lab prescriptions as requested by the dentist or dental hygienist. · Support clinic operations and patient workflows for the dentist and dental hygienist. Requirements Must have VT dental assistant licensure 1 year experience
