Location: Carolina Braces
The Dental Assistant is a vital member of our orthodontic team, responsible for assisting orthodontists in delivering exceptional patient care. This role involves sterilization, preparation, inventory management, and ensuring smooth clinical operations.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in orthodontics (required)
  • X-Ray Certification (required)
  • Current CPR certification (required)

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with minor issues, answer questions, and provide clear directions as authorized by the orthodontist.
  • Collect and accurately record patient health histories.
  • Prepare treatment areas promptly by sterilizing and setting up for orthodontic procedures.
  • Act as chair-side assistant, ensuring orthodontists have easy access to instruments and materials.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols, including sterilization and proper disposal of materials.
  • Manage operatory supplies and compile lists for inventory and ordering.
  • Participate in daily huddles and complete assigned checklists to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Assist with clinical and administrative office functions, as needed and directed.
  • Support orthodontic procedures such as wire changes, appliance adjustments, and bracket bonding.
  • Handle lab duties including pouring impressions, trimming models, and managing orthodontic appliance cases.
  • Provide patient education on post-procedure care, oral hygiene, and treatment plans.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and provide proper handoffs to administrative staff for continued care coordination.
  • Make post-procedure follow-up calls for patients with invasive treatments.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
