Performance Objectives (including but not limited to): Discuss treatment options to patients to help them understand the importance of the treatment. Helps the team manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drugs and oxygen supply, directory of emergency numbers and adhering to the RTD Emergency SOP & Safety Plan. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Is proficient and professional when handing off patients to the front office staff (following exams and procedures) to ensure patient scheduling of procedures. Willingness to assist with assigned doctor but flexible to assist when necessary with other doctors Taking dental radiographs (PA, BW, CBCT & IO images) Asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse Treatment documentation and planning Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment Supporting assistants, hygienist and all doctors when necessary Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary. Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment Assist doctors in educating patients to encourage patient case acceptance. Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing) Taking impressions/digital scans of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth) Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., post operative calls, patient clinical calls, equipment maintenance and ordering supplies) Helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics, endodontics and oral surgery Ability to digitally scan, design crown/bridge and fabricate CEREC crowns/bridges/implant crowns Turn over clinical operatory in timely manner for next dental procedure Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Monitors clinical dental supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipates needed supplies. Monitor and track lab cases; orders parts when necessary for lab cases Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques. Assignments and/or tasks as requested and agreed upon for the betterment of RTD utilizing individual time & talents.
