JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional services. This position requires a blend of clinical skills and administrative capabilities, ensuring a smooth workflow within the practice.

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry.
  • Experience with medical imaging techniques, including X-ray and 3D scanning.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance.
  • Familiarity with general dentistry practices and procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting with pediatric patients.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate medical documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
  • Experience as a dental receptionist is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control protocols.
  • Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist, utilizing proper techniques.
  • Document patient medical histories, vital signs, and treatment plans accurately in medical records.
  • Manage patient scheduling and appointments, including follow-ups for treatments.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment to promote efficiency and safety.
  • Support front desk operations as needed, including answering phones and managing patient inquiries.
