JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various aspects of dental assisting, including chairside assisting, patient care, and administrative duties. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient operation within our dental clinic, providing support to both the dental professionals and patients.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices is essential.
  • Proficiency in using dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic is a plus.
  • Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is highly desirable.
  • Experience with 3D scanners and medical records management will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Take and develop X-rays, as well as perform medical imaging when necessary.
  • Manage patient records, including medical documentation and coding, while ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for patient management and scheduling.
  • Conduct preliminary assessments by taking vital signs and gathering medical history.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Support pediatric dentistry procedures with a focus on creating a comfortable environment for young patients.
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care in general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties.
