THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a registered Dental Assistant to provide clinical support to students, residents, faculty and staff in helping to ensure excellence in oral health care delivery while optimizing academic goals. The individual must be confident working in a digital dental environment; this role requires the ability to complete all Scope of Practice chairside duties in addition to inputting and modifying electronic patient data. Our Dental Assistants work with a vast array of patients and help to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including oral pathology, dental sleep medicine, oral surgery, periodontics, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, undergraduate orthodontics, oral radiology and TMJ clinics. This is a great opportunity for Dental Assistants looking to grow in their field.

THE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Successful completion of a recognized Dental Assisting Course with current unrestricted active dental assistant licensure with the Manitoba Dental Association.
  • Current health care CPR certification is required.
  • Formal WHMIS training is preferred.
  • One year of dental assisting experience in a dental office is required.
  • Experience with intraoral scanning and digital dentistry procedures is preferred.
  • Experience working with patients of all ages is required.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to work well with students, staff and the general public is required.
  • Ability to maintain a calm professional demeanor during times of high operational tempo and multiple demanding tasks is essential.
  • Ability to communicate well with others is required.
  • Use specialized instruments and equipment is required.
  • Reassuring patients to help reduce anxiety with dental procedures is essential.
  • Providing assistance to patients with special needs is required.
  • Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
