JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting students, faculty, and residents with supplies and instruments for all patient care activity and/or pre-clinical activity. Responsible and accountable for the electronic inventory control of supplies, equipment, and dental instruments. Responsible and accountable for charge slips for items students. Responsible for maintaining equipment, including minor repairs of equipment. Responsible for assisting with the collection of dirty instruments and assisting with the processing of these instruments. Responsible for the upkeep and order of storage rooms to ensure proper ordering of supplies needed for clinics and to maintain the integrity of the supply inventory system. Responsible for maintaining supplies for all clinics, dispensaries, and clinical labs. Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing coverage for the student boards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accredited organization with two years of experience in a dental setting. Knowledge of dental instruments, dental materials, supplies, and equipment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from a Dental Assisting Program with two years of experience in dental assisting.
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

The duties include, but are not limited to:
ISSUE INSTRUMENTS AND SUPPLIES: Issue instruments as well as supplemental supplies for all clinical / Pre-clinical activities. Ensure proper scanning of instruments to students, residents, and faculty. Transport carts to clinic. Maintain accurate records of items checked out from dispensary. Ensure timely return of items check out by students, residents, and faculty. Pick up unused instruments from mailboxes and clinic clean rooms daily.
MAINTAIN EQUIPEMENT AND SUPPLIES: Maintain equipment and supplies for labs and clinics. Check equipment to ensure it is working properly. Inventory clinic supply rooms and order supplies through Central Supply as needed. Deliver and stock clinic supply room maintaining accurate records of usage.
INVENTORY CONTROL: Maintain electronic inventory control of supplies, equipment, and dental instruments. Maintain inventory level of instruments and supplies stored in dispensaries. Unpack, store, label and distribute items as needed.
MAINTAIN ALL ROOMS: Maintain all rooms associated with Dispensaries and supply rooms within the clinic for accurate inventory count for the electronic inventory system. Ensure supplies are rotated to avoid product expirations. Maintain Dispensary chemical inventory control and storage program.
PREP AND COLLECT INSTRUMENTS: Prepare, distribute, and collect supplemental instruments used for boards (CITA/CRDTS). Assist all participants on boards with patient care supplies and equipment needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES: Responsible for directing the daily workflow process for the 5 dispensaries assigned and ensuring all clinics being served from assigned dispensaries receive accurate and timely supplies. Assist with supervising and training employees in assigned dispensaries. This will include up to 11 dispensary staff. Guide and encourage staff. Assist with evaluations of respective staff. Assist with the implementation of policies and procedures of dispensary unit. Responsible for training, time management, and performance reviews for all 11 employee reports. Report all issues, personnel or otherwise, encountered on a daily basis to the manager.
ENSURE DIRECTION OF ICR ITEMS: Ensure all broken items are sent to ICR and recorded as such within the computer system. Conduct scheduled cleaning of walls, floors, counters, and equipment to ensure proper cleanliness of area.
