Description

We are seeing a self-motivated and organized Dental Hygiene Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing the dental hygiene schedule, ensuring timely recall of patients, supporting hygienists clinically with sterilization & X-rays and coordinating coverage for dental hygienist shifts. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recalls Management: Oversee the recall system for patients, ensuring timely follow-ups for appointments and treatments. Contact patients for routine check-ups and preventive care appointments to maintain optimal patient flow.
  • Schedule Optimization: Efficiently manage the dental hygiene schedule to maximize productivity and minimize gaps. Monitor and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate patient needs and enhance overall office efficiency.
  • Shift Coverage Coordination: Act as the main point of contact for coordinating shift coverage for dental hygienists. Ensure adequate staffing by finding substitute hygienists when needed and filling open shifts promptly.
  • Communication with Team: Collaborate with dental hygienists, dentists, and office staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care, scheduling, and coverage.
  • Patient Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by answering patient inquiries related to hygiene appointments, recalls, and scheduling.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient appointments, treatment histories, and communication logs.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, such as managing patient forms, verifying insurance information, and updating patient files.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a dental office, particularly in scheduling or assisting, is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • HARP certification with Canadian experience is mandatory
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs.

Work Environment:
This role is typically performed within regular office hours. Occasional flexibility in hours may be required to accommodate urgent scheduling needs or shift coverage.
Compensation:
