POSITION SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental care team. This role involves direct patient care, education, and collaboration with our dentists and broader healthcare team to improve oral health outcomes for patients across our community.
The Dental Hygienist will perform routine preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services in accordance with clinical protocols and under the supervision of a licensed dentist.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Valid Massachusetts Dental Hygienist license
  • Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
  • Current CPR certification
  • Proficiency in Dentrix or similar dental software preferred
  • Commitment to continuous learning and attendance at CE events as required
  • Compassion, manual dexterity, attention to detail, physical stamina, and excellent interpersonal skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in community health or working with underserved populations
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities a plus
  • Familiarity with 340B programs and public health initiatives

Responsibilities
  • Welcome and prepare patients for treatment in a compassionate and professional manner
  • Conduct medical and dental history reviews, contacting external providers when necessary
  • Perform thorough intraoral and extraoral exams and document findings
  • Take and evaluate dental radiographs as appropriate
  • Deliver prophylactic cleanings, polishing, and periodontal scaling and root planing
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, periodontal disease, and treatment options
  • Collaborate with the attending dentist on all patient care decisions
  • Refer patients to dental or medical specialists as needed
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient record
  • Set up and clean treatment rooms according to infection control protocols
  • Support lab tasks and clerical duties as assigned, including answering phones and scheduling appointments
  • Assist with patient care during dental emergencies or late arrivals as needed
  • Uphold clinic security and safety protocols at all times
