Job Description: Dental Lab Removable Technician
Salary: 70-85k DOE

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Dental Lab Removable Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing the fabrication, alteration, and repair of removable dental prosthetics, such as dentures and partial dentures, while ensuring high-quality standards in production. This role involves leadership responsibilities, technical expertise, and close collaboration with dental professionals to meet patient needs.
Key Responsibilities

Technical Duties:

  • Fabricate full and transitional partial dentures, including base plates, occlusal rims, bite rims, and custom trays.
  • Set denture teeth on fully and partially edentulous cases per prescription specifications.
  • Perform denture repairs (e.g., adding teeth or fixing broken acrylic) and relines.
  • Process teeth onto removable partial denture frameworks.
  • Create orthodontic appliances, bleaching trays, night guards, and athletic mouthguards.
  • Inspect completed work for quality assurance, ensuring restorations are free of excess materials and polished to perfection.

Leadership Duties:

  • Supervise and train a team of technicians in removable dental prosthetic fabrication techniques.
  • Manage workflow to ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining quality standards.
  • Promote teamwork and adherence to lab policies and procedures among staff.

Supply Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to avoid production disruptions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized lab environment.

Compliance:

  • Ensure OSHA compliance by disinfecting incoming and outgoing lab cases.
  • Maintain safety documentation such as MSDS books and compliance manuals.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dental laboratory setting specializing in removable prosthetics.
  • Strong knowledge of dental materials, anatomy, and laboratory processes.

Preferred:

  • Certification from a recognized dental laboratory technology program.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM technology and digital dentistry.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail for reading prescriptions and fabricating precise restorations.
  • Leadership abilities to manage teams effectively while fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Proficiency in traditional lab techniques; knowledge of digital tools is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with dental professionals and staff.

Physical Requirements
