Who are we? County Road Dental Practice in Walton has been providing NHS and private dental treatment for over 30 years. There is a good variety of work from NHS check-ups, Invisalign cases, University of Liverpool Dental School student outreach clinics to our extraction service called Merseyside Tooth Removal. We have 4 computerised surgeries (we use Exact) and a friendly and supportive staff group of 7 dentists, 2 Practice Managers, 2 Receptionists and 6 Dental Nurses. Who are you? An enthusiastic dental nurse who is registered with the GDC. You have a cheerful but discreet manner and know when and how to reassure our patients and support our dentists. You pay attention to details, whether its laboratory dockets or dates of birth, to make sure we avoid mistakes. You plan your day and anticipate what materials and instruments you’ll need. You know how to offer practical support to your team members. In return, you expect your team members to support you. You are resilient and when problems arise, you are proactive and tenacious in finding solutions.

This is a full time, permanent role, working Monday 8:50 - 19:00; Tuesday 8:50 - 18:00; Wednesday 8:50 - 17:00; Thursday 8:20 - 16:30; Friday 8:20 - 15:30
Overtime is paid at time and a half

· Set-up and prepare the surgery appropriately for each patient. Prepare the necessary materials and instruments, making sure that equipment and instruments are in good working order and maintained regularly. Decontaminate equipment and instruments.
· Segregate waste in accordance with the practice procedures and ensure its safe disposal
· Liaise with reception over appointments for patients
· Provide chair side support to the dentist during treatment, whilst monitoring, supporting and reassuring patients
· Assist in the keeping of full and accurate patient records and ensure that they are regularly updated and stored securely. Complete laboratory request forms and keep records of all items sent, received and fitted. Check that all necessary laboratory work is returned and ready for each session
· Support the patient and colleagues if there is an emergency
· Provide appropriate advice to patients
· Follow all dental ethical guidelines including all rules on confidentiality. Maintain and promote patient confidentiality in relation to patient medical history, details of treatment, financial transactions or any conversation overheard
