Dental Nurse : Join Our Growing Practice
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual for a dual role as a registered Dental Nurse / reception, due to the practice expanding. The successful candidate will primarily be required to nurse but will also provide occasional cover in the dental surgery.
This is a permanent full time position working 4-5 days per week 8.5 hour shifts Monday to Friday.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a GDC-registered Dental Nurse with strong administrative and customer service skills to join our friendly, professional, and forward-thinking team.
Key responsibilities
Dental nursing duties (Primary Role)
· Provide chair-side assistance to our dentists and hygienists as needed.
· Prepare and maintain the dental surgery, ensuring clinical areas are clean and compliant with cross-infection control standards.
· Sterilise instruments and monitor stock levels of dental materials.
· Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring their comfort and safety.
· Reception duties (occasional cover)
· Manage the reception area, greeting and welcoming patients with a friendly and professional demeanour.
· Answer and manage telephone, email, and in-person inquiries.
· Book, amend, and cancel appointments efficiently and accurately.
· Update and maintain patient records on our dental software system (experience with SOE / Dentally or Carestack advantages but not essential as full training will be provided).
· Handle administrative tasks such as form filling, referrals, billing, and processing payments.
What we’re looking for
· A qualified and GDC-registered Dental Nurse is essential for this position.
· Proven experience in a dental receptionist or administrative role.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a calm and empathetic approach.
· Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency with dental software systems and general IT preferred but training will be provided.
· A dedicated team player with a proactive approach and a flexible attitude.
