REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualified Dental Nurse with GDC registration
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in dental nursing
  • Knowledge of private practice standards and expectations
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of compliance and infection control protocols
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Additional qualifications (e.g. radiography, sedation, implant nursing) are advantageous

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervising other dental nurses and support staff, offering guidance, training, and mentoring.
  • Rota & Scheduling: Organising staff rotas and ensuring adequate nursing cover for all clinics.
  • Stock Management: Overseeing ordering, storage, and rotation of dental materials and equipment.
  • Compliance Oversight: Ensuring the team adheres to all CQC, HTM 01-05, and infection control standards.
  • Induction & Training: Leading onboarding of new staff and coordinating CPD and training sessions.
  • Liaison Role: Acting as the link between clinical staff and practice management, communicating needs, challenges, and improvements.
  • Assist dentists during a wide range of private treatments, including cosmetic and implant procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with updating clinical protocols
  • Assisting the dentist during procedures
  • Cleaning and sterilising instruments and equipment.
  • Greeting, preparing, and reassuring patients before treatment.
  • Updating patient records accurately.
  • Checking and maintaining equipment (e.g., suction, compressor).
  • Maintaining GDC registration and completing CPD requirements.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in procedures, materials, and best practices.
  • Managing lab work: sending impressions, tracking returns, etc.
  • Giving oral health education or post-op instructions.
  • Maintaining patient comfort and dignity throughout procedures.
