The post-holder will be part of a team, working in a Private Orthodontics Clinic at Bedford Hospital, as required, providing high quality patient care exclusively in the Orthodontic Private Clinic within Bedford Hospital. The post holder must have good communication skills, be enthusiastic, with good dental nursing skills The Private Orthodontic Clinic runs on Thursday and Friday evenings only (and so it is feasible to work with our clinic if you have a daytime nursing commitment); The commitment to evening nursing sessions is very flexible you can offer as many or few sessions as suits your timetable. Main Responsibilities: To provide clinical knowledge, skills and assistance in the private orthodontic clinic - as a Registered Dental Nurse, to provide clinical support to an Orthodontist and an Orthodontic Therapist(Previous Orthodontic Nursing experience is not essential) To provide information to patients and relatives in a sensitive manner To acknowledge clinical limitations, seek advice appropriately and act in a professional manner in accordance with the relevant guidelines. To ensure GDC guidelines are followed To be aware of emergency and resuscitation procedures and comply with mandatory training on an annual basis as per the policy.
Ensure that practice is evidence based. Ensure that all local and Trust wide policies and guidelines are complied with at all times. Ensure that clinical and non-clinical risks and complaints are identified, assessed and appropriately reported and acted on.
